THE MEDINAH TEMPLE is an 80-year-old Moorish style amphitheater that has been recognized by the World Monuments Fund as one of 100 most significant, endangered manmade structures. The building's memorable exterior is lavished with distinctive copper onion domes and beautiful stained glass windows. Bloomingdale's Home Store is located in this building, creating an attractive retail center while maintaining the building's historic grandeur.
THE TREE STUDIOS and its historic annexes were workshops to many of Chicago's great artists over the past century. Built in stages between 1894 and 1913 by Judge Lambert Tree, Chicago's great art patron, the Tree Studios once again serve Chicago's art community by providing renovated spaces for artists and art related businesses, as well as thriving retail shops.
THE HIDDEN COURTYARD, nestled between the State Street shops and the Medinah Temple, has long been an inspiration to the artists fortunate enough to gaze into it from their studios. This sunny garden serves as a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of River North, while complimenting the shops that open up into this lush outdoor space.
